Finished chocolate cornflakes

Finished chocolate cornflakes

Keeping my 22 month old toddler entertained at home all day is proving to be increasingly harder each week.

Finally Luca is able to do, say and understand so much more, unfortunately all this has happened precisely when I have less time than ever before!

Looking after new baby Max has meant that spending time with Luca has become quite a juggling act!

Luckily Luca has become better at entertaining himself, but his need for more stimulation  is greater than before, plus he wants me to do every activity along with him.

Yesterday we grabbed the opportunity to get baking while Max took a quick power nap.

Using dairy free dark chocolate (Luca has CMPA) we melted the chocolate using boiling water and a plastic basin.

Luca donned his Little Helper hat and plastic apron and set out the bun cases into the bun tray.

When the chocolate was melted we added in cornflakes to the melted chocolate and  got to work crushing them up using spoons. Luca loved doing this! We had a play fight while doing it, until he got a little too loud and rough.

Thankfully it was time to put the mixture into the bun cases – which turned into a real battle of wills- Luca wanted to do if all by himself!

After we placed the buns in the fridge to set Luca amused himself by scraping all the remaining chocolate cornflakes out of the bowl with his spoon, then licked the rest- my favourite part too! While I did the washing up.
